Make a Tequila Sunrise For Cinco de Mayo

How To Make A Tequila Sunrise

Serve this gorgeous cocktail in a collins or other tall, thin glass.

3 oz orange juice
1 ½ oz Tequila
½ oz grenadine

  • Fill glass ⅔ with ice cubes.

  • Pour tequila and orange juice over ice.

  • Add grenadine.

  • Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.

Don’t stir this drink, otherwise you will lose the distinct layers that make it so perfect for Instagram.

Pro tip: Boil water and allow to cool down a little before using it to make ice cubes. This is how you get gorgeous, clear cubes that look the best in drinks.

Concoct 4 Slushy Margarita Shots

6 oz tequila
2 limes, juiced
2 tbsp agave nectar

1 lime wedge
Salt, for rimming glasses
Chopped strawberries, pineapple, blackberries and raspberries, for shots

  • In a blender blend tequila, lime juice, agave and ice.

  • Run lime wedge along the tip of the shot glasses and rim with salt.

  • Fill shot glasses with chopped fruit and pour over tequila mixture.

Pro tip: Can’t find agave? Don’t worry. Just use honey!

Brunchworthy Bevvy

For a simple, gorgeous drink you can serve to everyone from your mother-in-law to your coworkers, consider these champagne margaritas from Delish. Serve in flutes.

Keep your Cinco de Mayo simple with Champagne Margaritas

Class It Up With Champagne Margaritas

½ cup fresh lime juice

1 cup silver tequila

½ cup orange liqueur

1 bottle champagne

Lime wedges and salt for rim

  • Combine all ingredients, except lime wedges and salt, in a pitcher. Stir well.

  • Run lime wedges around each champagne flute and dip the rips in coarse salt.

  • Divide margaritas between the flutes and garnish with a lime wedge.

Pro tip: make the pitcher ahead of time but don’t add champagne. Before serving put the champagne in serving ware and then pour the mixture over. This will mix the drink without killing the bubbles.
