Spring Break is here so let's take a trip south of the border to learn about Mezcal. Jersey Wine & Spirits is excited to offer Mez College tonight at the shop. Get your tickets and join us to learn about this spirit.
Agave grows in Mexico. While some think it is a cactus, it is not. Agave is a plant with a core called a pina that is crushed for liquid. The liquid is then distilled to make Mezcal. The distilled, crushed pina of blue agave is called tequila so all tequila is mezcal but not all mezcal is tequila. The bottles with clear liquid and a worm? That's Mezcal! Tequila, contrary to popular belief, does not contain a worm.
